Luma Knotty

Luma Knotty is an award-winning Green Bay band known for their original blend of guitar-driven funk, rock, and reggae. Founded in 2017 by guitarist Ryan Patrick with the idea to fuse his musical roots in blues and funk rock with his training from McNally Smith College of Music and his years of experience in roots reggae. While writing original music/lyrics, Ryan wanted to create a more modern approach to reggae, setting the vibe using vibrant stage designs. Luma Knotty was awarded the 2019 and the 2024 WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Award in the World category. Their first EP ‘Sounds of Earth’ was released in February 2020, their first full-length album 'Bring the Light' was released on January 30, 2023. Luma Knotty's third release, Favorite Dream, maintains the band's reggae roots while delving deeper into funk and rock, with infectious horn lines that elevate the band's raw energy, giving their sound a powerful, yet polished aura. The album was released September 25, 2024 and is available on all streaming platforms.

They have opened for such bands as: Mihali (Twiddle), EN Young (Tribal Seeds), Boulevards, Sophistafunk, and Baba Commandant & The Mandingo Ban. They play such events as: Mile of Music, Electric City Experience in Kaukauna, Oshkosh Main Street Music Fest, All Bands on Deck Music Festival in Green Bay, Badger State Brewing Summer Concert Series, Levitt Amp Stevens Point Music Series, Vibin' in the Pines Music Festival in Rosholt, World Naked Bike Ride Milwaukee, and Bastille Days in Milwaukee, as well as featured numerous times on 105.7 WAPL and WCZR Code Zero Radio.
