About Hadji Gaviota
Hadji Gaviota is a rising singer from Queens, New York.
Self-labeled as “left-handed music,” Hadji’s sound is a unique take on R&B, indie pop, alternative, and hip-hop. Pairing vivid, touching, and at times funny lyrics with a deceptively sweet falsetto, Hadji draws from everything from his dad’s old British punk records to New York hip-hop, with plenty of stops in between.
Hadji’s first project, “Captain”, was released independently in December 2018 following the successful single “Harajuku,” which to date has over 600k streams and has been featured on the Spotify editorial playlist “Feel Good Dinner”. His 2019 EP “ANCHORS” contains two tracks that were featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds, “feveR dReAm” and “tHAt SiNkiNg feeliNg…” with Ivy Sole, and “SHiRt SHOeS SeRviCe”, which was featured on Apple Music’s “The New New York” playlist. Hadji capped 2019 off with two collab singles with fellow New York-based indie pop darlings TheSecondSex (“Hemlock”) and Monica Riskey (“Tech Deck”), and led off 2020 with "Hittin' Different", which was featured on Spotify's New Music Friday in 7 Asian countries.
