About Max Minardi

Max Minardi is a California-based singer-songwriter. He has been writing and performing original music since 2012 across the Western United States. Max calls Chico home base but is constantly on the move and performs an average of 150 shows per year. Flirting a delicate line between story-telling and and cryptic symbolism, Max's lyrics bear elements of both traditional folk and modern indie music. Over the years, Max has been highly inspired by musicians such as Iron & Wine, Damien Rice, and Bon Iver. In live settings, Max performs with an array of instruments- from acoustic guitar to piano, from stripped down songs to highly-involved, loop-based pieces. Though traditionally solo, Max also plays with a full band from time to time. It's a different show every time, but one that is sure to keep you on your toes and pleasantly caught off guard. May 14th of 2016 marks the release of Max's first full-length studio album "Stronger Than the Earth." The eleven song record is comprised of songs which feature an eclectic mix of both instrumentation and styles. The opening track "Can't Let Go" is an upbeat, modern folk song featuring guitars, horns, glockenspiel, and more while examining the feelings of love lost, death, and regret. Further into the album is "Doing Wrong"- a driving backwoods, old-fashioned, country song revolving around anger and revenge. At it's core, ""Stronger Than the Earth" is an emotional roller coaster capable of speaking to even the most diverse of audiences." California singer-songwriter influenced by Paul Simon, Iron & Wine, James Taylor, and Damien Rice. Greyhound father. Coffee enthusiast. Bad at "About" sections.
