About Tahabdra

Tahabdra is a live electronic duo using a unique tuning system built with the biological beneficial frequency - 528Hz, along with the golden ratio & Fibonacci sequence, the numbers on which every level of nature seems to be constructed, producing music with intricate rhythms, tantalizing low end, & rich sonic textures. The goal is to get people moving and having a good time while having a positive effect on the body & striving to ease tension through the use of the numerical roots of the natural world.

The innovative tuning system, developed by drummer/electronic musician Josh Weinberg, takes life aided by the sonic wizardry of Dominican-born producer/DJ Wiggz Caro. The two met while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, both graduating with degrees in Electronic Production & Design. The duo released their debut EP, PHI, in October 2017 and had the release party at Alex Grey’s world renown CoSM. Tahabdra followed this release with their “psytrap” single CALICO on Infinity Mirrors, a compilation Zebbler Encanti Experience (ZEE) curated for Gravitas Recordings featuring Au5, Nibana, Moniker, and more. Tahabdra then released their aggressive yet minimal 808 banger, TAHUL, in March 2018, aspiring to ride the line between such acts as Ivy Lab and Tool. The duo continued their string of releases with the two-track Nosaro, released in May 2018, inspired by artists like The Prodigy and Noer the Boy. In March 2019, Tahabdra premiered the 1st track on their TRIPTYCH EP, IBOGA, via The Untz, and a subsequent premiere of the 2nd track, ZADYMA via UK-based DNB Dojo the following week, with the full EP released via Lost In Sound on March 22nd. In a move to switch things up and focus on some new sonic territory, as well as to celebrate “Tahabdra Day” (May 28th...5.28), the glitchy and emotive single SAMAN was released on May 28th, 2019 followed by the West African inspired HOTALO, appearing on Lost in Sound Summer 2019 Compilation in June, alongside Templo, Antandra, and Moon Frog and more. May 28th, 2020 saw the premiere of the first single off Tahabdra’s Hedron EP - “Mubalu” via The Untz. On August 25th 2020, The duo’s half time uptempo remix of ZEE’s “Trance End” was released via Wakaan, closing out the End Trance (Remixes) album. Between August and September 2020, Tahabdra premiered the other tracks from Hedron via Aspire Higher, The Muti Music, Gradient Perspective, and All:Lo Collective, culminating in the full EP release via the UK based label, Visionary Shamanics Records in September 2020. The duo switched things up once again with the release of their deep dubstep inspired Octonian {Tachyons} EP which was released in July 2021, with a single premiere from Noiseporn. And with a relentless work ethic, Tahabdra is already well underway for releasing their next collection of material, Ataraxia, nodding their hats to Central and South American as well as Carribean folkloric styles and progressive rock stylings blended with a modern electronic edge.

Tahabdra's press credits include The Untz, ill.Gates’s Producer Dojo platform, Lost in Sound, DNB Dojo, and Earmilk. Through these features, fans & critics have been able to get a closer look into what Tahabdra is all about as the duo unravels the details of how they use their tuning system to produce emotive music simultaneously exploring the possibility that sound and music can potentially have a positive effects on the human body on a cellular/molecular level.

In the short time since Tahabdra’s launch, the project already has a substantial performance history; as direct support for ZEE (Zebbler Encanti Experience) w/ Sixis, headlining a Shpongle afterparty at the House of Blues Boston, headlining The Reliquarium’s Sublimation event, direct support for ill.Gates @ the Boston official Envision Festival preparty, performing right after Diplo at Psychedelic Sleepover Festival in NH, late night after lespecial at Unifier Festival, another headlining afterparty for Infected Mushroom at HOB Boston, support for Mindex and Hullabaloo in Brooklyn hosted by The Rust/Saucy Monster, support for Egoless and Digital Vagabond at the Reliquarium HQ hosted by Rezinate, direct support for EarthCry (Boston), headlining YourParents (Hartford, CT), and headlining The Black Box (Denver, CO). In the age of COVID, Tahabdra stayed busy playing selective streaming events such as JamCast Network’s StreamFest alongside such artists as Desert Dwellers, Malakai, & Morillo and a Wormhole Wednesdays stream with Veil, Sylph, and more. Furthermore, MONABA, a conceptual performance film was filmed during the lockdown, and has been a central focal point for the duo, which will see an imminent release. Most recently, Tahabdra announced their participation in FractalFest 2022, alongside such artists as Rob Clouth, Richard Devine, and Alex Banks. The duo work tirelessly to make sure each show is a unique experience - with Josh on drums & electronics and Wiggz on Ableton Push, both perform multiple parts simultaneously, achieving a balance between improvisation with strict composition, no two sets being the same. After years of national and international touring experience with other artists and projects, these two musicians have joined forces to bring audiences new sounds and innovative live shows filled with ecstatic energy and virtuosic performance. Tahabdra is much more than just pressing play on a computer.
