Keltik Fish

Keltik Fish are a somewhat ‘genre-defying’ 4-piece from the Midlands, UK. Forming in 2010, without the pre-conceived brief many bands impose upon themselves, they set-out to do nothing more than write and perform music, regardless of genre or style. With the quartet’s expansive pool of musical influences, it’s no surprise that the resulting concoctions are as satisfyingly eclectic as they accessible: healthy portions of Rock, Pop, Prog, Funk, Folk, Jazz, Metal and Ska, held together with unmistakably ‘Fish’-scented glue. The sweet-to-soaring sound of lead-vocalist Sara Krause’s voice, is complimented perfectly by guitarist Tommy Jennings-Bates’ warming tone and relentless rapping. Whether cutting and complex or subtle and simplistic, the rhythm section, consisting of bassist Nathan Smith and drummer Jan Krause holds firm, with every slap and crack suitably in sync. The lyrics, some beautiful, some barmy, some both, could have you crying one minute and cracking-up the next. From epic to obscure, poetic to preposterous, Keltik Fish will keep you engaged from the curtain-raiser to the curtain-call. We done an album a year ago, so now we're going to do another one.
