About The Jd Project

The JD Project is a Rock quartet located in the Central Coast reigon of California. Their sound a diverse blend of rock, soul, country, reage, and punk. After the disbanding of Itchy McGuirk in 1998, keyboardist Doug Groshart and bassist Jon Scholl organized a re-connection gig and were joined by guitarist Dan Ernst and Brian Scholl on the drums. The evening was exhilarating and the group vowed to play again. Jeff Fuller filled the spot on the drums as a local player was needed. The name JD was penned after the initial of each member's first name. In 2002 Jeff relocated to San Diego as part of a more lucrative outfit and he was replaced by renowned drummer Jennings Jacobsen. The drum throne was reseated by Erik McCornack in 2006 and again 2008 by Dave. This move brought back order to the universe as the "JD" once again represented the players and not some whiskey from Tenesee. Music can mean many different things to many different people. For some, music provides the underscore to their lives, always in the background, accompanying their day-to-day activities, but rarely in the forefront. For others, music is the soundtrack of their lives, often out in front of everything, matching the pulse and mood of their current state. For others still, music is an art, a science, something to be analyzed. The JD Project, provides the kind of music that works very well for all three instances. Their driving blend of rock, blues, soul, and country provides a pulse that is great for a party atmosphere. It moves you to tap your feet, dance, sing along…basically have a great time. Their lyrics and musicianship will impress even the most discerning of listeners. Their live performances are exciting, amusing, and enjoyable while still leaving the opportunity for people to hold a conversation with each other. All in all, The JD Project is a great band for any occasion where having a good time is at the top of the list of priorities. In the weather there's alarm and it's gonna lead to drama...
