About Camens
Camens are amongst the new breed of Northern guitar band and more specifically the new bunch of talent hailing from Stoke-on-Trent. In the last year alone, they’ve been invited to support The Futureheads, The Feeling, Scouting For Girls, The Sherlocks, King No One and The Snuts to name a few.
Camens' debut single ‘Boys Will Stray’ was described by BBC Radio 6’s Gideon Coe as "A Well Recorded Strong Debut". Two more singles were added to Tom Robinson’s 'Listening Post' by the Fresh on the Net team and the band have gained ongoing support from their local BBC Introducing presenter, Rob Adcock, who has awarded Camens tracks record of the week status on more than one occasion.
Camens are also no strangers to a busy festival season, having travelled North to Redcar Rocks, South to Boardmasters, East to Latitude and West to Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, as well as becoming popular headliners at Stoke festivals such as Your City and Lymelight festival. This hard work and the band's undeniably good songwriting and production, demonstrated in a further 5 singles, has gained them airplay from Elise Cobain on Amazing Radio and attracted some high-profile fans including bastion of new music Steve Lamacq, who championed single 'Danny DeVito' on his BBC Radio 6 show.
With a solid live set and a healthy batch of new music and content up their collective sleeve, 2020 promises to be a pivotal year for Camens.
