About Julie Williams Music
Julie Williams is an acoustic pop singer-songwriter whose sound derives from a diverse array of musical influences and experiences.
On April 26th, 2019, Julie released her debut EP, Lovecycle. The EP highlights her mesmerizing vocals and introduces her as a strong songwriter and producer.
Julie’s debut single ‘Take Me Home’ was released in September 2017. In April 2018, she opened for Sweet Tea Trio at the Motorco Music Hall in Durham, NC and followed up the performance with the release of her second single ‘Wish You Knew’. After opening for Mt. Joy at the 750-person venue Cat’s Cradle in September 2018, Julie released her third single ‘Little Love’.
Growing up in Florida, Julie spent her youth immersed in music, performing at church and singing anthems at professional sporting events. Julie spent her high school years performing at restaurants and beach bars as part of an acoustic duo and received classical voice training.
Julie will graduate from Duke University in May 2019. In her time at Duke, she was an artist for Small Town Records, the student-run record label whose alumni include Grammy-nominated artist Mike Posner and Delta Rae. Her work in the studio and as a vocalist for the Duke Jazz Ensemble helped to develop her own style, a pop-country feel with inspiration from the music of her childhood - The Dixie Chicks, Ella Fitzgerald, and James Taylor - and contemporary artists - Norah Jones, Colbie Caillat, Kacey Musgraves, and Maren Morris.
