“A call has gone out, to the ends of the Earth. The trumpets have sound the assembly. We’ve gathered together uniting our strengths. A call to the faithful, O come all, come all ye saints!” Based out of Anaheim, California, Iron Sharpens Iron blends both melody and intensity in a way which sets them apart. From their driving rhythms to heart-hitting vocal harmonies they are raising the bar for the “Core” genre. The band formed in the fall of 2009. Within their first year ISI had already stormed the local scene and played with such bands as Living Sacrifice, To Speak of Wolves and Becoming the Archetype to name a few. They began recording their debut EP entitled “Beware the Wolves” in the summer of 2011 with producer Christopher Eck who recorded bands such as Impending Doom and The Great Commission. Before its release they experienced the tragic loss of Gabe Furey, their original drummer and dear friend. The band felt as if they were stranded and unsure whether or not they should continue. After a few months God brought them Seattle Gage-Chavez and the decision was obvious; ISI would continue and come back stronger than ever! With Seattle’s addition the band’s sound started to evolve and grow not only heavier, but more technical as well, pushing everyone in the band to grow and mature. ISI is currently writing new material for what they hope to be their first full-length album. The band is aiming to be in the studio by the beginning of 2013 and have the record out by the following summer. “This is not just a band, but a means to reach people and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” says singer Christopher Kurth. “We strive to reach the lost and be a light in a very dark music scene. We are so thankful to be used as instruments of the Lord and hope that He would continue to use us effectively for His Kingdom.
