Anchors Sink Ships

These days, anyone and everyone can form bands and find easy ways to get their name out there. The hard part is finding originality and aspects that make them different from the rest. Originally formed in 2009 and brought back in 2011, Anchors Sink Ships is a new band to be brought to the table known as the Connecticut music scene. Formed from the remains of bands such as I, Collapse and The Premier, the band was born into a competitive scene where everyone fights to the top. Anchors Sink Ships chooses to separate themselves from the rest with catchy melodies backed by a heavy pop-punk influence, only to be followed by hard-hitting breakdowns. The 5 members, while still being some of the youngest musicians in Connecticut, made a name for themselves surprisingly quickly. In early August of 2011, Anchors Sink Ships began recording their debut EP, "Fight For What You Live For", with local producer Jake Holzman of Dreamer Studios. Within a month, they released their first single, "Never Swallow Your Pride", and received incredible amounts of positive feedback. 3 months later, the band announced the date for the release of the EP and their debut show.
