About Rowan Flack
Rowan Flack is a south London-based artist and composer known for her introspective and accessible contemporary jazz songs with contemplative lyrics and understated, clear vocal delivery. The Brit alumna and jazz graduate’s intricate and contemplative sound takes influence from soulful pop, ECM-style jazz, and indie-folk artists who inspire her lyrical and dreamy approach to writing.
As an artist whose music “beautifully dances across a multitude of genres, crafting something that is all-encompassing” (Atwood Magazine), her introspective and accessible contemporary jazz songs border between the genres of pop, folk, and soul.
Her debut EP ‘Forest Fires’, funded by Help Musicians, was recorded in Love Electric Miloco Studios with recording engineer Andy Hughes (Eliza, Suede, Paloma Faith). The record features close friends; established session players and fellow Trinity alumni Joel Waters, Jack Lecomber and Deschanel Gordon. Collectively, the band has performed globally in various creative projects and scenes with the band playing for the likes of Olivia Dean, Matilda Homer, Judi Jackson, SEED Ensemble + Nubya Garcia.
Rowan’s release ‘Tipsy on The Tongue’ garnered support from Wonderland Magazine who says she is “quickly becoming a key figure in the UK jazz and soul renaissance”. Other notable presses include features in Jazzwise, Earmilk, and Revista Brasileira.
Her sophomore EP ‘Forest Fires’ will be released on the 23rd of February 2024.
