About Satori Loser
Satori Loser is the brainchild of 26-year-old NYC-based singer-songwriter Tyler Wilson. The group formed late in 2016 around Wilson's lyrical, vocal, and rhythm guitar compositions, drawing most notably on post-punk, art rock, jazz, shoegaze, and folk influences. They have since been cutting their teeth in NYC clubs crafting a sound that ranges from shadowy, angular dance-punk vamps at one end to cinematic torch songs on the other. Lyrically, Wilson tends toward fractured, impressionistic narratives of personal experience and social criticism, often incorporating modernist and surrealist techniques as well as concepts from eastern philosophy. The band is working with engineer Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Iggy Pop, Swans, Violent Femmes, Herbie Hancock) on an eponymous debut LP which is expected to be released early next year.
