STONED ON THE NILE - biography


In October 2009, on a construction job site, guitarist Chris "CAPS" McCombs (BLACK HEART, GUNMETAL BLUE, STONED ON THE NILE, UNDERCOVER ALLSTARS ) & bassist DLG traded ideas of a vision they had for their music. Inspired by the owner of the company they were doing a project for. The decision was made, CAPS time to return to writing and performing was long overdue and he and DLG would take charge of the new found inspiration to build this band little did we know how awesome it was to become. Soon after serious talks began, they enlisted the services of older brother and lead guitarist Greg McCombs to form the core of what would become Stoned on the Nile. First they needed to create the right atmosphere in which to allow creativity to flow , so they built a recording studio that became Tangent Point Studios. Upon completion of the studio in mid April, 2010, the band could begin the writing and recording process. They captured 18 year old Eric McCombs ( son of Chris, imagine that ) as the drummer. With very limited experience, and the pace quickening, Eric soon found his rhythm and was able to lay down tracks for the first six songs on the album. Unfortunately the time had come for Eric to leave for college, so once again time to fill a void. Things were really looking up, as the long standing vocalist dilemma was about to fade away. Nate McCombs ( son of DLG & vocalist for the band “ BEFORE I FALL “ ) wanted to come into the studio and put down some vocal tracks to the new songs. After hearing the result, everyone involved agreed including Nate, that he should join the band. Soon after that, the final piece of the puzzle came together when drummer Eric Piper ( original drummer of BEFORE I FALL ) reunited with Nate and solidified the Stoned on the Nile lineup.
The band will release the first single “ Through the Smoke “ on October 31st , with the entire 12 song disc set to release on New Years Eve 2010.

The bands base of operation is located on the southwest side of Indianapolis, Indiana but they are fired up and ready to hit the road. With a song list of tracks that deal with their own personal life experiences as well as topics that cover social, political, and economic
Issues that we all are affected by on a daily basis.
Stoned On The Nile has a solid reputation for High Energy Rock performances that has put them on many stages opening for National Acts as well as the clout to headline many special events and shows organised by TangentPoint Media Group.
