About SUB-TRIBE
From the raw, roots-driven frequencies of Aotearoa (New Zealand) comes SUB-TRIBE.
Packing thick with bottom end, glitchy beats and soaring harmonies. Expect to be taken on a journey across genres – from blues drenched dub, chunky skank reggae to jazzy hip-hop with a twist of ragga dancehall.
This 6-piece dub-fusion outfit offer a distinctive and exciting approach to the bass culture movement with captivating, high energy live performances that will leave you skanking for more...
"The production gave me shivers. I felt like I arrived on a tropical party island. Hand me a fresh coconut and keep the beats going. I'm done!"
- Nkechi Anele (Roots ‘n’ All - Triple J)
SUB-TRIBE's musical journey began in 2017, supporting New Zealand dub pioneers, Salmonella Dub, on their summer East Coast tour in Australia.
Since then, they have focused on writing and creating music while performing at events and festivals. Crafting their sound into what has been described as 'Unprecedented Dub-Fusion'.
"With a solid new track under their belt, SUB-TRIBE are marking out an unprecedented take on dub-fusion." - Luke Saunders (Happy Mag TV)
2019 saw the release of their debut single 'Next Phase' a SUB-TRIBE signature sound of deep rolling bass and punching groove. Wasting no time, the boys headed straight back into the studio emerging a little while later with their latest single ‘Who’s That’. A smooth, summer vibe that is all about that lover’s dub.
SUB-TRIBE are again excited to be announcing a new release scheduled to drop early August with accompanying video clip. The track simply titled 'Tribute' is exactly that. A clever and catchy 'Tribute' to the legend and pioneer of Reggae music, Bob Marley.
To celebrate the release, SUB-TRIBE will be announcing a string of shows with very special guests. If you’re up for a night of heavy bass, great energy and fun, then come and experience live the SUB-TRIBE-vibe!!
