About Scky Rei
Scky Rei (Skylar Reed) is the emcee of the Omaha hip-hop duo BXTH. Scky is known for his sharp self-examination and aggressive delivery.
During his creative hiatus period leading up to the his single “Plant Seeds” and project DEMOS: If It Wasn’t For You, Skylar “Scky Rei” Reed is a singer/lyricist/designer from North Omaha, Nebraska. He was tangled with mental, emotional, creative doubt feeling he let his people down and everything was a lie. Reed regained his confidence from his wife and was encouraged to create again. This built up creative fuel for the completion of his record with his award winning group BXTH (fka BOTH) as well.
DEMOS: If It Wasn’t For You reintroduces the jazzy, soulful, unorthodox work Reed’s been making since his BXTH groups 2015 label debut, BOTHSUCKS EP. The project won OEAA’s Artist of Year and Best Hip-Hop/Rap awards for 2016. Reed creates simplistic yet soulful music that’s praised by the likes of Conor Oberst and Dreamville. Cinematic, emotional, personal rap—rooted from his own manic and bipolar energy.
