Joseph Ciglietti

Sono nato a Palermo nel Settembre del 1985. Sin da piccolo sviluppai un'attrazione quasi magnetica per la musica ed il canto, e all'età di 12 anni chiesi ai miei genitori come regalo una chitarra classica Takamine (una di quelle con cui si impara a suonare, solo un pò più costosa); così, dopo qualche calletto alle dita cominciai a strimpellare i pezzi degli artisti italiani e stranieri con cui sono cresciuto (Antonacci, Ramazzotti, Max Pezzali, Oasis, Green Day, Avril, Nek). Grazie a quest'ultimo mi approcciai al canto in maniera diversa, colpito dall'energia che proveniva dalla sue canzoni.
Il suono di Filippo Neviani (Nek), inevitabilmente mi condusse verso la musica dell'artista britannico Sting, che ancora oggi più di ogni altro considero mio mentore e fonte di ispirazione.
Nel 2005 dopo il diploma al liceo scientifico formai i "The Lovesteps", una formazione in cui ero il cantante e che ci vide suonare in qualche oratorio del mio paese (Misilmeri) e in qualche liceo palermitano.
Successivamente, nel 2008, entrai a far parte di una formazione chiamata "The Anonymous Shapes", una band indie rock palermitana che stava suonando delle cover e che cercava un cantante. L'esperienza con gli Anonymous Shapes, di cui diventai cantante e chitarrista ritmico, produsse 3 Ep di pezzi inediti in lingua inglese, concerti in club e radio locali, qualche intervista, e una serie di passaggi in alcune radio inglesi (Manchester e Londra). Tuttavia, nel 2011, dopo aver realizzato il videoclip della canzone "Winter Sun", a causa di alcune divergenze tra i componenti, la band si sciolse.
A questo punto decisi di prendermi una pausa con la musica e terminare gli studi, conseguendo la laurea in Economia Aziendale ed un master in Digital Marketing.
Oggi è tempo in cui riprendo a scrivere canzoni assecondando il mio innato amore per la musica con una nuova avventura da solista.

I was born in Palermo in September 1985. Since I was a child I developed a magnetic attraction for music and singing, and at the age of 12 I asked my parents for a classic Takamine guitar as a gift (one of those with which you learn to play, just a little more expensive); so, after a bit of pain to the fingers I began to hear some chords and I tried to strum the songs of Italian and foreign artists with whom I grew up (Antonacci, Ramazzotti, Max Pezzali, Oasis, Green Day, Avril, Nek). Thanks to the latter I approached the song in a different way, struck by the energy that came from his songs.
The sound of Filippo Neviani (Nek) inevitably led me to the music of the British artist Sting, who even today more than any other I consider my mentor and source of inspiration.
In 2005 after graduating from high school I formed a band called "The Lovesteps", in which I was the singer and saw us playing in some oratory of my country (Misilmeri) and some high school in Palermo.
Subsequently, in 2008, I joined a band called "The Anonymous Shapes", an indie rock band from Palermo who was playing covers and looking for a singer. The experience with the Anonymous Shapes, of which I became a singer and rhythm guitarist, produced 3 Ep of unpublished songs in English, concerts in clubs and local radio, some interviews, and passages in some English radio (Manchester and London) . However, in 2011, after making the videoclip of the song "Winter Sun", due to some differences between the members, the band broke up.
At this point I decided to take a break with the music and finish my studies, earning a degree in Business Administration and a master's degree in Digital Marketing.
Today is the time when I resume writing songs satisfying my innate love for music with a new solo adventure.
