About Sybrandus

Fabricio Rodríguez & Miguel Raposo meet at the Belgian Royal Conservatory of Mons, where they study under the great Brazilian Master Odair Assad. They share a common passion for baroque music and quickly become close while developing clear musical complementarities. They focus on works by Rameau and Scarlatti.
Their technical maturity and especially their original approach appeal to their teachers, who fervently encourage them to appear on stage. With great public acclaim as a result!

They need a stage name which would identify them to their project as well as arouse curiosity. And here it is: Sybrandus, first name of a little known Dutch baroque composer. With its unpublished, respectful, but also daring and charming transcriptions, the Sybrandus duo wants to move, surprise, and exhilarate.

Discover or rediscover the magical works of Sybrandus Van Noort, Antonio Soler, Domenico Scarlatti, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Jean-Baptiste Lully, Pancrace Royer, Carlos de Seixas, and Jean-François Dandrieu.
