Benthos

Benthos are an experimental progressive metal band from Milan, Italy. Blending elements of prog, mathcore, post-hardcore, jazz fusion, and psychedelia, they craft a sound where precision meets unpredictability and melody crashes into madness.

For those who crave music that's unapologetically heavy and unhinged—yet also dreamlike, melodic, and jazz-infused—Benthos deliver a relentless sonic experience. Their music shifts effortlessly between chaotic passages and stunningly ethereal interludes, always pushing into uncharted territory.

Formed in 2018, Benthos quickly made waves in the Italian metal scene, opening for The Contortionist in 2019. Their debut album II introduced their signature blend of intricate rhythms and dynamic guitar work.

Live, they're hypnotic, schizophrenic, and intense. After their 2022 Essence Tour, they brought their electrifying energy to the main stage of Dissonance Festival 2023 alongside Meshuggah, Soen, and Destrage.

In April 2025, Benthos released their sophomore album From Nothing via Inside Out Music (Sony). The album drew international attention with spins on Kerrang! Radio, global editorial support, and early acclaim.
