About Lone Justice

Formed in 1982 by lead singer Maria McKee and guitarist Ryan Hedgecock as a country and rockabilly cover band. With the addition of bassist Marvin Etzioni and drummer Don Heffington they were signed to Geffen and produced their self-titled album. Despite catchy and critically acclaimed tunes like "Sweet,Sweet Baby (I'm Falling)" and the Tom Petty written "Ways To Be Wicked", the album was too country for rock fans and too ahead of its time for country fans. It sold poorly. After the rest of the band split, McKee enlisted guitarist Shane Fontayne, bassist Greg Sutton, drummer Rudy Richman, and keyboardist Bruce Brody, and with the production of Steve Van Zandt released Shelter. This attempt at commercial success fell flat, the public was still not ready. The band disbanded for good shortly after.

Maria McKee is still a respected and influential solo artist. She can be found making guest appearances on albums by the likes of Robbie Robertson and Dwight Yoakam.
