About Shereese Goodchild's music page

Shereese Goodchild grew up in California with divorced parents that lived on the opposite sides of the country. Her mother loved dance music and would always play it loudly in car rides and at home. Naturally loving music, Goodchild first started writing songs in the third grade. When her teacher found out that she had written one, she asked her to sing it in front of class the next day. After a nerve-wracking yet thrilling experience, Goodchild knew that performing her own music was something that she wanted to pursue forever. By the seventh grade, Goodchild joined her very first choir class. Knowing her skills, she tried out for an advanced choir and made it. By eighth grade, Goodchild auditioned for a special choral program and was chosen out of one hundred kids in the entire state of North Carolina to participate. Junior and senior year at Freedom High held the same type of audition-based program, and out of all the students in her county, she was among the six that were chosen.
Unlike her traditional tastes of music in the past, Goodchild gradually became more and more attracted to electronic dance music. She grew to like everything about the dance music scene; especially since the genre was subconsciously glued to her brain as a child. After being introduced to dubstep artists like Adventure Club and Bassnectar, whom molded melodic female vocals to energetic beats, she knew that this was the career path she wanted to take.
After graduating, Goodchild knew that the little town she lived in wasn’t quite big enough for her and her dreams. With a mom and brother who were current residents of the Windy City, she decided to move to Chicago. Shortly after living there, she met a friend named Chris who decided he would mentor her by showing her everything he knew about the flow of studio sessions. He showed her how to produce songs, set up microphones, and even input the sounds of his guitar onto his computer. He also explained to her that having this combination of skill sets in her life would most definitely open doors for her musical future. With the passion and determination that had never left her, she decided to attend SAE Institute.
In her everyday activities you can find Goodchild playing guitar and writing new music. With a father that was a lead guitarist and singer of four bands, she aspires to follow his footsteps and advance her ability in singing, guitar, and piano. When she was young, her father told her that if she ever wanted anything in life she could have it as long as she tried. He also said that if she didn’t reach for something she wanted she would always regret it. Goodchild hopes to make her father proud and to one day become a successful music artist and producer. With the programs that SAE Institute offers, she is assured that her musical goals are now only within reach.
