"THE HOLD UP"

The Hold Up formed in November 2009 from a collection of local musicians based on friendship and instrumental recommendation. Long term friends Rich Oades and Adam Steer seeked out young rhythmic sensation Ben Edwards and inspired Bassist Alex Chambers to form the tightly strung, contemporary indie 4 piece that is now known as The Hold Up. After just 2 studio jam sessions they were talent scouted at a Birmingham music convention within the N.E.C, and asked to enter "Music Live Idol 2009", a competition which they went on to win in blinding fashion. Off the back of this success they home produced a set of tracks due to industry demand and soon began gigging, selling out local venues almost immediately. Fans and representatives within the industry began to tune into their fresh sounding vibes and their potential has not gone un noticed. Currently building relations with internationally renown contacts, The Hold Up are looking to spread their Black Country roots into the limelight and are tipped for a promising 2010.
