About ABQuartet

The four diverse musicians that form ABQuartet, Antonio Bonazzo (Piano), Francesco Chiapperini (Clarinet & bass clarinet), Cristiano Da Ros (Double Bass) and Antonio Fusco (Drums & percussion) all stand out in their own musical expertise but together bring something unforgettable to the music world playing a blend of classical, free jazz, jungle, rock and contemporary that leaves their listeners humming their tune for days. Created in 2009 by Antonio Bonazzo the groups front man so to speak, ABQ have since travelled around Europe playing their unique sound while perfecting their blend of genres and preparing for the launch of their debut studio album “OUTSIDING” (October, 2016), a name that refers to their unconventional music themes and in general to the musicians and there individualistic style.
Antonio Bonazzo, pianist and group leader graduated from the Italian Conservatory in both piano and composition. Who between 1996 and 2000 attended the piano-courses at the Münchener MusikSeminaar (Muenchen - DE) and also studied jazz at the "Civici corsi di musica" of Milano with R. Sportiello. In 2011 he graduated with a Master of Arts in Composition & Music Theory from the CSI of Lugano (CH).
Francesco Chiapperini after graduating in clarinet at the "Gaetano Donizetti Institute" started his musical career with work experience at the “I Pomeriggi di Milano Orchestra” and several collaborations with some Italian wind orchestras and then began studying the alto saxophone with Daniele Cavallanti.
Cristiano Da Ros the group’s bass player graduated with honours in Jazz Music at the Conservatory "A. Buzzola" of Adria and specialized at the Siena Jazz Foundation following a two-year Master at In.Ja.M where he studied with some of the most important musicians of the jazz world. He also spent a year and a half at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.
The last component of ABQ is Antonio Fusco one of the most important and original drummers of the European Jazz scene. Confident and up to date with the latest trends, he is currently involved in various European projects, including: Giovanni Falzone Contemporary Orchestra, Tino Tracanna Acrobats, No Pair, Reem Kelani Band, SEULS.

The unbreakable synchronicity between these four friends is what makes their music so special. Its gentle unpredictability is capable of giving a memorable experience to both an educated music lover as to an unexpected concertgoer. Their brilliant musical dialogue builds tension and creates a feeling of mystery, music that can tell a story as if played in a movie “OUTSIDING” is only the beginning of a sound that will last forever.
