About Shannon Patiño
Rich in emotion. Lyrically exposing vulnerabilities. Paying tribute to women, family, and all who battle with their own struggles against insecurity, overthinking, and judgment from others.
Shannon Patiño puts her pen to paper for the sake of songwriting, just as others do while journaling or self-reflecting. This Mexican-American songbird hails from the small Illinois village of Minooka but now calls Mount Vernon, Washington her home. Her recordings and regional performances bring to life her personal stories and emotional journey. Patiño weaves her themes of self-worth and following one's dreams into a beautiful, vibrant discography.
Her 2024 release, "Here I Go Again" showcases the very reason that led Shannon to start writing songs back in 2015. The songs "El Tiempo" and "Pressure" presented themselves to her at that time and have remained relevant, both earning inclusion on her latest album. At the time, through those songs, Patiño found herself navigating the pressure of being the first daughter of immigrants--caught between the goal of achieving financial autonomy while not giving up on her individual dreams and passions.
Once she'd found songwriting as a release Shannon dove deeper into her own psyche, writing "Fly Away" and "Hey Girl" in an effort to break free from her own insecurities. And in a difficult time in our country with women's rights being challenged and elminated, "Taking Back This Reign" unapologetically expresses her womanhood and the need to take the lead in a patriarchal society.
With her vulnerability, Shannon Patiño brings to her music her undeniable strength, conviction, and determination to achieve her dreams against the odds.
