About Saturdays Radar

From the fertile depths of Austin, Texas' musician pool, Saturday's Radar began in earnest in 2004 from pieces and journeys in other Austin bands. Saturday's Radar had been known for their melodic sense blended with rawness of tone and ferocity of delivery. Eclectic choices of covers for the live shows by The Cure and Neko Case further render them as hard to define. Although the band's influences range from everything from Neil Young to the Deftones, the band's self proclaimed definition of their sounds is: The Cars (on crack) and, sounds like The Pixies and Black Sabbath put together. The new album, Western Songs, dropping Valentine's Day 2013, was recorded (and somewhat produced) by Jim Vollentine (Spoon, And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Old 97s, Heartless Bastards). cats sniffing glue burglars from Manchester
