About Dj Josofine
JoSoFine has a Norwegian/Caribbean background, and was raised in the Bay Area, California. She started playing the piano at the age of 7 and spent many hours playing classical styles and improvising tango. Growing up she listened mostly to Hiphop (Old School, Gangsta, Trap) but also world music such as Reggae, Latin, Indian and House and thanks to the great influences around her both at home and in her community. Her versatile background and love for her city and culture is where she gets her inspiration and versatile taste from. JoSoFine was first introduced to DJing and beat making at the age of 16 during an internship at Youth Radio in Oakland, California. In 2014 he started Oh Mama! crew's "Dj Skolen".
As a DJ, JoSoFine spins the hottest Hip Hop, Grime, Afrobeats, Dancehall, RnB/Soul, Afrohouse tracks as well as her own Shake Dat remixes. She keeps the dance floor LIVE with new and old bangers from the West Coast, the South, East Coast, Caribbean and Africa! Josofine has warmed up for artists such as Davido, Yxng Bane and Patoranking. She’s brought the heat at various events in Europe and the US.
JoSoFine has a unique style, and gets inspiration from many different genres. She also enjoys songwriting and her passion for radio from an early age has inspired her to launch a podcast show. Her down to earth, outgoing and straightforward personality allows her to have conversations about todays “urban” music, production and industry as well as social and controversial topics.
