Dopo aver chiuso il progetto Ausländer ed essersi fatta le ossa calcando palchi importanti come quelli di Italia Wave, Heineken Jammin’ Festival e Sziget Festival di Budapest, Maria Teresa Tanzilli (voce) decide di affrontare una strada musicale completamente diversa. Il desiderio è quello di far crescere quei brani che sono già in incubatrice da un anno, musica e testi sono già pronti, ma la dimensione band è imprescindibile. Nascono così, nell’aprile 2016, i Virginia Waters: Andrea Spigarelli (batteria) tutta l’energia dei Wonder Vincent, The Rust and Fury, Pornovalium; Andrea Mattiucci (chitarra) corde ispirate degli OH! EH? e Giulio Catarinelli (basso) eclettica mente dei Quiver With Joy, Il Capro, Fake Revival!
Il gruppo non solo funziona, ma funziona così bene che nascono nuovi brani.
Il 5 settembre 2016 i Virginia Waters entrano in studio di registrazione sotto la neonata etichetta umbra JAPrecords ed iniziano a registrare l’album di debutto con Federico Brizi.
C’è il rischio che possa nascere un gran disco, ma per averne prova bisogna aspettare inizio 2017.

After garnering various experiences with the Ausländer project on big stages such as Italia Wave, Heineken Jammin’ Festival and Sziget Festival of Budapest, vocalist Maria Teresa Tanzilli has decided to set off on a brand new musical journey. Now many of Tanzilli's newest songs will have the chance to see the light of day, as her music and lyrics are finally accompanied by a great band, Virginia Waters.
Formed in April of 2016 (Andrea Spigarelli (drums) bringing the energy of Wonder Vincent, The Rust and Fury, Pornovalium; Andrea Mattiucci (guitar) with the inspired strings of OH! EH? and Giulio Catarinelli (Bass) adding the eclectict vibe of Quiver With Joy, Il Capro, Fake Revival!), the band has worked so well that they were quickly able to add to their repertoir of original tunes.

By September 2016, recording for the first studio album was underway, under Federico Brizi and the freshly born JAPrecords label.
Prospects are high for Virginia Waters' debut record, and in the early part of 2017 we'll see how well it lives up to the band's potential!
