About JUKIN

In the early 1970s a new form of music was emerging in the South. A mixture of blues, country, gospel and the English invasion of rock and roll, that later was to be coined the phrase "Southern Rock." The music was filled with style and emotion and with bands in the forefront such as the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and also a band from Jacksonville, Florida called Molly Hatchet. and I just loved this sound and wanted to play this music in a band. .....but in 1972 I had moved far away from the USA to London, England to go to school and missed the American music scene tremendously. So a few of us in our London school started jamming and formed a band called Cajun Moon in1972, to start playing music from South to remind us of home back in the states. We play in the English Schools to Pubs scattered around the english countryside and some in Europe as well in France ........I continued to play drums in various garage bands over time after moving back to the states in 1977 on and off, but not really going anywhere and started a career in radio as a broadcast announcer and radio personality for 20 years in the metro Washington DC market..... But it wasn't till after 2000, that I really got a bug in me to really give it a go again, and start playing a lot of drums to hone my skills to build a band, that was the type of music I really liked to play back in the day, of that Southern Rock style. I joined musical forces of a other musicians from Northern, Va, to bring a Band performing the music of a Southern Music extravaganza of artist like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Charley Daniels, The Allman Bros., Marshall Tucker, Black Oak Arkansas and more.

I had been building a monster kit at the time so it was just natural to bring this huge kit to fruission. I currently play this 16 piece drum Tama kit with 13 Sabian cymbals in the band depending on the venue maybe a little smaller, cause we are taken Skynyrd fans to a frenzy of calling Freebird in the end.Way to much fun.......and I hope I'll be coming to a venue near you on the drums. See you soon!
