About Fuga

PLAYERS NATALIJA JAPERTE, classical accordionist, was born in Latvia in 1982; she started playing accordion in her home town of Daugavpils under the guidance of Valerij Chodukin at Daugavpils Music College (Latvia). Since 2002 she has been studying as an undergraduate at the Lithuanian Academy of Music, with Professor Eduard Gabnis. In July 2006 she gained a BMus Diploma. Natalija is a winner of international competitions in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, German, Russia, Belorussia and Italy. For more information see www.accomusic.co.uk JULIAN CANN, violin, studied at London University where his violin tutor was Linda McLaren. He has subsequently been taught or coached by Reginald Stead, Martin Milner, Raphael Wallfisch and the Alberni String Quartet. Julian leads both the Stonebridge and Castalia quartets as well as playing with the Pennine Piano Trio, Lonsdale Baroque Ensemble and pianist David Chapman. He has played with National Concert Orchestra, Manchester Concert Orchestra and Northern Chamber Orchestra and has performed concertos with orchestras in the North West and Scotland. Julian also leads Lancaster’s Haffner Orchestra, with whom he has also appeared as soloist, and recently played in the Goetheanum, Basel. He is shortly to embark on a chamber music tour to Switzerland and Germany. SUZANNE DE LOZEY, piano. From a secondary school education in Guernsey, Suzanne went on to study music at Gypsy Hill College, Kingston and then Class and Woodwind Peripatetic Teaching at Bretton Hall College, Yorkshire. Inspired by her teachers Averil Williams (flute) and Michael Round (piano) she soon gave up her job as instrumental woodwind and classroom music teacher at St. Anne’s School, Windermere and for over 30 years has worked as a freelance musician in many fields, including: as a flute player in orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout the county, and as an accompanist for pupils and choral societies, and as a hotel pianist. Qualifications: BAHons, LGSM, LRSM. BOB BULLER, double bass, studied cello at the RNCM with Emma Ferrand prior to becoming a freelance IT consultant. He performs with many local orchestras and choral societies in Lancashire and North Yorkshire. Robert regularly performs as a chamber musician with the Pennine Trio (piano trio), cello and piano duo with Philip Kubilius as well as performing with various folk/ indie bands around the North west in his copious spare time!
