About The 7:45s
The 7:45s are an original soul collective from Manchester on a mission to produce the perfect single.
The brainchild of songwriter and bassist Sam Flynn, The 7:45s are inspired by the house bands of soul labels from Motown to Big Crown. The young collective feature some of the finest musicians on the Manchester scene, spotlighting guest vocalists such as Martin Connor and Yemi Bolatiwa.
Named after 7-inch vinyl, The 7:45s write snappy singles influenced by soul and disco. They blend the vintage sound of rare groove with the songcraft of perfect pop – then add autobiographical lyrics and rhythmic twists.
Live, The 7:45s are an eight-piece. Boasting male and female vocalists, harmonies, horns and a tight rhythm section, the band produce a wall of sound that's built for the dancefloor. In the studio, the collective feature a bespoke line up for each track, ranging from dozens of musicians to an intimate four-piece.
The 7:45s released their debut album 'Spinning' on Vinyl and CD through LRK Records in June 2025.
'Spinning' has received rave reviews. DJ Craig Charles named it “One of the top albums of the year” concluding that “Every soul-lovin’ home should have one.” Clash Magazine called it an “Outstanding debut album" and “A summer must-have for 2025”. Seven songs off 'Spinning' have been played on BBC Radio 6 Music by DJs such as Chris Hawkins and Stuart Maconie.
