In the beginning, there was a jam band. After a change in the lineup, guitarist Will Murley and bassist Sam Stewart set out on a quest to form a new band. Sam reached out to longtime friend and drummer, Jackson Core. One minute into the first jam of the first practice there was magic. Throughout 2013 the band experimented with different sounds and styles until it settled upon the sound it has today. Jackson's approach to drums was one of systematic chaos. Sam Stewart combined a hard funky bass sound with strong vocals. Will Murley introduced grinding guitar riffs, melodious leads and fast pentonic solos. Combined, their powers became Apollo Radio. Our mission: to explore strange new riffs, to seek out new fans and new audiences, to boldly go where no rock band has gone before. ...after boldly going where no rockband has gone before, Apollo Radio has disbanded indefinitely. Each of the members has gone on to pursue various musical interests. However, new mixes will be released under "apollo radio" or other names the now-independent band members will be a part of.
