It seems like many musicians are very desperate nowadays but Baby Lou got nothing in common with Kangaroos who play keyboard for Kanye West and I guess if Ghostface Killah wrote a review about this record, he´d definitely check out more experimental guitar music in future! Cuz good music is good music. Let´s get back to a record predicated by passionate musicians who love to tour the fuckin universe with way more passion and less budget than anyone else out there. Let´s take a stage dive into total darkness. I am sure the whole album contains 1000 different noise elements, well collected by Marco during 5000 hours of precious lifetime. The description of this album definitely gave me a hard time because in my eyes it´s their best album and the diversity/creativity is preading/increasing with every follow up-track! Mix up 90ies Emo/Post elements with new shit like the current Pop Punk/Hardcore heroes Title Fight and the celebration of Hair Metal (only on the fun level/visual level… The music is still 100% not Metal at all…) and you´ll get a vague image of what this album is all about. Talking about the lyrics… This album ontains many personal notes why humans suck and why especially one part of our Saarland sucks ass big time. To be honest… I am a picky dude if it comes to Punkrock/Hardcore , Pop Punk and any other subgenre because there are like a million bands which sound the same but this Baby Lou album is nothing but the result of hard work, passion, heartblood and REAL CREATIVITY (kinda predicated by the irony of life). As a random I´d like to mention that I forgot to include Electro Pop as another element which has influenced the outcome of “Stagediving Into Total Darkness” . If the big brother who grew up with 90ies Emo would give this album to his 10 years younger sister (The sister is kinda like the female Hot Topic teenager who collects Title Fight, Balance & Composure and Transit vinyls…), she wouldn´t hate on that music. Zwei legendäre Etablissements, vom Heimatkaff aus gut mit Bus und Bahn zu erreichen. Das eine eher deutschpunkverkrustet, das andere ein Hauch von Hardcore und Emo Chiceria. Beide hatten eines gemein: Non-Stop Shows von kleinen und beinahe großen, jedoch erlesenen Bands aus aller Herren Länder. Offene Münder… ganz große Augen. Und genau hier fing alles an. 2003. Einmal Blieskastel. Einmal Homburg. Nie wieder Sportfest. Gegen das Fell bürsten, mit Kämmen aus Stahl, wahlweise Plastik. Metal-Ästhetik und erhabenes Riffing führen zu nichts, können aber alles bedeuten. False Metal und Punkrock-Tradition lagen selten so dicht beieinander. In diesem Sinne: „My god rides the lightning“.
