About Hisland

Andrew Silvestro (vocals & bass), and Jordan Pinto (guitar) could easily be the Saturday night entertainment for a seedy dive bar à la the movie, ‘Roadhouse’. The Toronto-based trio makes up for their misleading band name with their head-nodding, foot-tapping, drunk-dancing, brand of lo-fi garage-rock. Andrew founded ‘Bad Girls’ in late 2014 when he teamed up with producers, Japeth Ryan Maw and Ian Smith. His goal was simple, to express his love for transistor era rock n’ roll in our modern age of smartphones. The result would be Bad Girl’s debut EP, ‘Youth Culture’. ‘Youth Culture’ is a celebration of restlessness, less-than-intelligent decision-making, and carefree youth spirit. Its combination of sandpapery vocals, fuzzy guitars, overloaded amps, and high-energy drums conjure up images of smoked-out basements and feeling happily confused – Showing the more things change, the more they stay same. With the addition of PJ Herrick and Jordan Pinto, the band continues to develop rapidly, both musically and on stage. Bad Girls are definitely worth watching out for.
