Maple & Rye

Stemming from Gothenburg, Sweden, this rhythmic folk/pop quartet consists of Leo Lönnroth (guitar, vocals), Milton Lönnroth (bass, vocals), Henrik Bielsten (drums/percussion) and Gustav Rybo-Molin (guitar, piano, vocals). The band’s musical journey began in 2016 with the release of their debut single ‘Lost’ which served as an introduction to the group’s acoustic roots and melody-heavy pop blend. Further developing their sound, the band took a matured step forwards with the EP ‘Nothing Poetic’ in 2017. Here, vocal harmonies bloomed out into what would become a signature sound for the band. With lead single ‘Hymns of Poseidon’ gaining extensive critical acclaim and reaching the top 10 of Spotify’s Viral Sweden 50, they set out to conquer the indie live scene.

2018 saw the band releasing three singles and garnering attention as a strong live act, performing at sold out shows in their hometown and at several festivals in Sweden including GARDEN and Peace & Love. They also took their music abroad with concerts in London, Oslo and California.

Wrapping up the year by hunkering down in the studio, the band is now looking at a big 2019 with the release of their debut album and a scandinavian tour in the early months.
