Vincent Schmidt

Vincent Schmidt, a virtuoso of fingerstyle guitar, has established himself as a prominent figure in this musical genre, with the release of three albums and over 150 concerts in Switzerland and abroad.

Vincent mastered the "one man band" guitar style as a self-taught musician, drawing inspiration from renowned artists such as Chris Woods, Jon Gomm, and most notably Tommy Emmanuel, who remains his greatest influence.
At just 18 years old, he composed and released his first solo album, Feelings, followed by Between Hope and Fire in 2019, and Ode to Breath in 2023. Alongside his musical career, he pursued higher education in Jazz at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU), where he earned a Bachelor's degree, followed by a Master's in Jazz Pedagogy, which he completed in 2024.

Throughout his journey, he has been recognized with several awards, including the prestigious Cully Jazz Prize, which commended his ability to develop ambitious and varied musical projects.

Vincent Schmidt also became the Swiss ambassador for the acoustic guitar brand Dowina and co-founded the MIGS Academy, a guitar school in collaboration with the Montreux International Guitar Show.

In parallel, he participates in various musical projects, notably with the group A.W.A, performing on the stages of major festivals in French-speaking Switzerland, such as the Paléo Festival and Zermatt Unplugged.

In November 2024, he releases his fourth album in collaboration with jazz pianist Natan Niddam, whom he met during his studies at HEMU.
