Yan-Nick Michaud

Canadian Singer-Songwriter Yan-Nick Michaud blurs the lines of acoustic indie rock with a soulful bluesy folk twist playing shows with such names as Wax Mannequin, Hush Hush Noise, Terrence Jack, Ali McCormick and Juno award-winning artist Joey Landreth. Playing from the Valley’s many local pubs to Hockey Day in Canada, Kingston’s own, Homegrown Series, Artfest and The Break out Project featuring Sam Roberts, he has recently announced the release of his much-anticipated debut album set for release in late 2019 under award-winning singer/songwriter Brock Zeman’s Busted Flat Records.

This multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter waits for no drummer, in fact, included in his live show, he is the drummer guitarist and singer/songwriter. With one bare foot rattling various homemade shakers and the other thumping upside the rickety, wooden Cajon upon which he sits, Yan-Nick’s stories spill out through song with a sense of love, honesty a humility. There’s nothing fancy about what he takes on stage with him for these live shows, but this musician isn’t one to leave anything up there when he leaves either, with the exception of a crowd on their feet and a lasting impression.
