About Lots Holloway
“I think music is felt, before it is understood” explains Lots, “I write music to connect, with myself and with other people.”
Born and raised in Newquay, a seaside town in Cornwall, UK singer/songwriter Lots Holloway spent childhood listening to the artists who frequented the family home record player. Connecting in particular with the raw and emotional impact of Carole King, the simple but captivating notions of Fleetwood Mac and the intriguing curiosity of Bowie, Lots became infatuated with the art of story-telling and music. This led, inevitably, to Lots becoming an accomplished musician; a self-taught drummer, guitarist and pianist.
Fast forward and the journey so far has led to, recording with veteran producer Mike Hedges, co-writing songs with KT Tunstall and performing live for BBC Introducing. Lots makes soulful vintage pop with a distinctive voice with intimate songs. Telling raw and heartfelt stories, 2020 is the year Lots will start to truly emerge.
Lots has been independently releasing music throughout 2019 and along the way has been garnering support from music publications such as Clash and Wonderland Magazine, who have quoted Lots as 'a true star in the making’ and ‘a vivid pop newcomer’, and also strong support from BBC Introducing London’s Jess Iszatt, who described herself on air as a “big fan” of Holloway, with a love for Lots’ “raspy tone”.
Lots’ on stage presence is second to none; a compelling performer, playing a myriad of instruments and making crowds swoon with a silky voice. Holloway is an enchanting and captivating when stripped solo, and when fronting a live band, only becomes more powerful.
