About Taylor Michael Music
Taylor Michael is a laid back Midwest guy who loves country music. Mixing old and new school styles together to make a unique sound that everyone loves. His stout baritone voice and tall 6’4” stature has helped him find his place in today’s Country Music.“Music is one of those things that has been around forever,” explains Taylor. “For every mood or feeling, there are songs that are seemingly made for that moment. There is a connection made through the lyrics and music that nothing else can do. That is the type of music that I try to make. Songs that talk about trying to get things right in your life and asking for direction, advice, and having hope that all things will work out, those are the ones that I am drawn to. I hope to write songs that will make people feel the same way they make me feel.”
Taylor’s musical roots run deep. Besides singing, his mother’s piano performances helped her win the Miss Tennessee pageant. Both his Grandparents come from musical backgrounds and Taylor’s sister is a singer and musician in the Dallas area. It’s not that hard to see why writing and performing comes so natural. “I can remember running around the house with my sister dancing and singing to country songs when I was very young, like 7 or 8. Those days inspired and really got me hooked on Country Music.”
Taylor talks about his first performance ever and why he’ll never forget that rainy September night in Dallas, Texas. “The stage was outside under a tent which would have been nice but there was a thunderstorm and water leaking through onto us and the equipment. There were about 20 people standing around for the first song and all I was worried about was remembering the lyrics, which I did. By the end of the show the crowd had grown larger and everything went smoothly. It was a nervous start to the evening but totally gratifying and amazing.”
It’s 330 miles from Taylor’s hometown in St Charles, Missouri to Music City, Tennessee. When asked about his recent move to Nashville, Tennessee, Taylor is still buzzing. “I have always been around music and wanted to make it a part of my life in some way. When I found the opportunity to learn guitar, write and sing songs there was no question that I was going to go for it. The impact that music has on everyday life is so strong, it is my dream to be a part of it and make my mark within the music world. Moving to Nashville has been something I have wanted to do for a very long time. It’s a great feeling to finally start to achieve all of my goals. I am excited to see what the future holds.”
