Great band, good venue.

The venue was new to me and, as the band itself said from the stage, a comfortable space with good acoustics. The band claimed they had done a gig the night before in Oregon and if they drove all night it was a miracle they showed up at all! This was the first time I have seen the band live and their energy was on display throughout the show. I am a lover of traditional Irish music and these fellas gave me the best of this kind of music I have heard in many years. I bought two of their CD's and will wear them out.

The band was fantastic. I hadn't seen these fellas since sometime in the 2000's at Eddie's Attic in Decatur/ Atlanta Georgia when my wife was still alive. They haven't skipped a beat. They were delightful, fun between the reels and jigs, etc.
Winona Grange was a really warm building last night due to no AC and a heat wave. I thought it was great, however, and can't wait to return. I live in a northern suburb of Portland, but I'll keep an eye on their calendar. Whoever Sam was, was also great. I don't know if he was the booking agent or what but super nice bloke.
One complaint - no alcohol. I've never seen a Trad band where there are no pints and drinks. Luckily I brought a flask.
All the best, John Kieran Paul
