About The Boxty Gang
A new Irish-based group creating a unique blend of Irish Traditional Music and Old Time American Folk, with hints of funk, jazz, and contemporary music. The group brings together established folk and acoustic musicians from Ireland, Norway, and Belgium, for an exciting new project in Folk and Traditional Music, aimed at audiences near and far.
The Boxty Gang are the 2016 runners-up of the Michigan Irish Music Initiative and have performed independently in festivals and venues in Ireland, Belgium, Norway, and The USA to date. Their debut album of original and traditional arrangements of folk music, aptly titled 'West Towards Home', features several notable guest musicians in the Irish Music scene and will be released in late June. Following this, the group aims to bring the music worldwide.. Keep an eye out for upcoming launch dates for 'West Towards Home' throughout Ireland.
