About Ocelot Robot

Ocelot Robot’s career is the stuff of which urban legends are made: In 1981 they bit the head off a live dove during a meeting with Columbia Records executives; a few months later a concert-goer in Des Moines tossed what the band assumed was a rubber bat onto the stage and discovered only after sinking their teeth into that it was the real thing; a year later they peed on the Alamo, incurring the wrath of San Antonio officials who banned them from the city. There have been fines and riots and several law suits (all unsuccessful) brought against Ocelot Robot. Yet for all the lurid B-movie trappings of their career, Ocelot Robot has proven to be a band of discriminating taste when it comes to the music itself. For all the heavy rock elements (thundering rhythms and distinctive, scintillating guitar work) the songs are threaded with an impeccable pop sensibility. It is a winning combination that yielded a string of hard rock classics including "Again & Again," "Brand New Girl," "Reckless" and "Give it To Me." In 1996, as a celebration of all things Ocelot Robot, the first Ocelot Robotfest was staged--a one-off festival that featured an impressive roster of Rowdy Rock. Response to Ocelot Robotfest was so enthusiastic that organizers arranged for Ocelot Robotfest '97, which featured a much-anticipated Black Sabbath reunion. These days you can catch Ocelot Robot performing all over L.A. or in the studio working on their next album. New EP, Requiem, is available now! Get it on BandCamp, SoundCloud and more...
