San Pedro

San Pedro San Pedro is an Alternative rock band from Tel aviv, Israel. The band was formed in late 2008 by Yotam Pur (vocals), Daniel Malachi (guitar)Later on joined Eli Cohen (bass) and Eyal Satat (drums). During this time, San Pedro had won the title “best alternative rock band of 2009” in an annual competition taking place in Tel Aviv. Since then, they performed in numerous concerts and festivals, gathering a strong fan base, which follows them across Israel. San Pedro was invited to take part of the worldwide broadcast show "Balcony tv". In November 2011, the band had released their debut album "Ambitions”. The album contains each member’s wide range of musical influences, providing the listener with a unique, refreshing experience. San Pedro’s debut album produced by Baruch Ben-Izhak, a well-known producer in Israel (Rockfour, Ninet, Electra).As the band released their premiere single "Whirlwind" from the album, the band was named as "One of the most promising bands of the year" by "City Mouse" magazine. The follow up single "Ambitions", got the attention of many critics and magazines all over the country, it helped the band to finally get to the mainstream circle with the entry to the "Galgalatz" Playlist (main radio station in Israel). The "Ambitions" single also caught the attention of the great Gary Lucas that compares yotam's voice to the legendary Jeff Buckley! As for now, San Pedro are working on their second album.The band unique new style contains ethnic influences and interesting samples collaboration of "Daoud and Saleh al Kuwaiti" (the biggest composers of Iraq in the 30's, and Daniel's grandfather). The band will release their second studio album in the next few months.
