About The Venditos

In the Year of our Lord Two-thousand and Three, Capt. Chip Skippy (then, simply know as the Chris) journeyed as the hippie in the back of a van to Chicago for the National Poetry Slam, where he and the Nathan that was to become the Neutron Wad. They achieved a grand alliance through sleep deprivation, merrymaking and not staying lost in Chicago. The longer their alliance continued after returning home, the more it evolved. Eventually, becoming the music and poetry show called Living Words with No Shadows which played a few coffee shops in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Soon after those shows the soon-to-be Captain started a project with Will, whom he had played in with a band called Closed who opened for NoFx when they were only 18, and William Stewart named The Venditos. After a ferocious Halloween show that will go down in Chickentown history, they needed a new bass player. Enter again Natewad to the hallowed ground under the smelly carpeted garage at 525 NW Eubanks. Disputes and problems led to Will exiting the fold. Then, the power-jam trio took its abrasive triangular shape. It has been said that was devolved version of what they were to become. Having rightfully assumed their identities: Chris was fully bestowed with the title of Captain when he assumed full reign over the school bus, Natewad Neutron brought his willingness to learn and his knack for strangeness, all the while Bobby Blanco taught the drums math. They achieved a more upright state and were ready to show the world what just was behind the curtain when you met the Wizard. They played any venue brave enough to withstand the collective grunt and roar. They were even stupid enough to have even dared electrocution finishing a set as the rain began to pour though the roof of that former strip club. Texas was not safe. Kansas was not safe. Missouri and Louisiana were not safe from the thunder of their music or their stickers. But, sadly in New Orleans, after 2 years a mighty collision happened among the men and the Neutron became unstable and found himself separated from his friends and on a new path. And verily, the Lord could not allow this molecule to lose its power and sent his own right hand, Gabriel, ready to continue the great works thumped by him while in Spooky Fruit and Old Major. Then it was time, Bobby Blanco and the Capt. made their trek to the Wild World of Yucca Valley, California. After receiving a massive suntan, Bobby Blanco found that the desert was not for him and went off to find riches of another kind. Leaving Chris to drive the bus back to Oklahoma and its 60,000 miles of American road under its weary tires to restart the Venditos. In the 838 house where the Capt and Natewad lived while the Venditos took its shape, the Capt enlisted: Gabriel, Natewad (whose been going to school to become a music teacher), and former Troopsonic, Big Damn Heroes, Heron, and 4 Years drummer DANIEL! STEPHENS! to begin recording at Bell Labs. The chemistry of these four has led the Vendtos to become what it has long been prophesized of it being capable of: a powerful force on the music scene prepared to journey as far as the music shall travel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijwhn01J824
