Deejay Lanka

At a moment in time when the DJ determines how we experience music, Sir Lanka has crafted his own unique style to deliver a high-energy EDM experience with an urban flair. Feeding off of the crowd’s energy, the young Belgian DJ creates a shared experience with his audience. Sir Lanka kicks down genre doors, mixing EDM with house and hip hop anywhere he appears, from sweaty underground clubs to filled-up concert venues and festival stages, building links between hip hop and electronic music while watching genre barriers crumble. Sir Lanka seamlessy weaves together quality music by connecting mainstream to underground tracks, digging up old classics and revealing unknown gems. His background as a beatboxer and breakdancer still resounds in his dynamic high-powered sets laced with hip hop tunes and trap anthems. In 2013, Sir Lanka won the Benelux competition of the international Movida Corona DJ Contest and played the final event in Pacha Ibiza. He came in fourth out of 2400 participants world wide. The contest inspired Lanka to explore house music even more and it has since become an important part of his sets. Sir Lanka recently became an official Red Bull DJ, which perfectly combines Sir Lanka's passions of extreme sports, traveling and music. He also DJs abroad for ski- and surforganizations like BoardX and Skiline. Sir Lanka is an upcoming international DJ who has played all over Europe: in Pacha (Ibiza), Club Malaysia (France), Bataplan Disco (Spain) and Iceberg CHP (Bulgaria). Eventhough his ambitions are international, his roots can be traced back to Ghent. Ever since his first DJ gig he has made a name for himself playing regularly at famous locations like Culture Club, Patjelli, Viking Ghent, L'étage and Vooruit. He is also a resident at Klub XIII, functioning as the focal point for the weekly Klub Knights.
