About The Howl & The Hum
The Howl & The Hum was born in York, England, an ancient city teeming with ghost stories and pubs. In these pubs, the band met, worked, wrote, rehearsed, played, and honed their craft.
Their first EP, ‘Godmanchester Chinese Bridge’, was released in 2017, earning acclaim for its lyrical vulnerability and its exploration of sound, and received international radio airplay.
While building up a reputation for their emotional and intense live shows while touring the UK and Europe, they were invited to play SXSW in Austin TX by Radio One's Huw Stephens in 2019.
Their critically lauded debut album ‘Human Contact’ was released in May 2020, which was followed by a gig at York Minster later that year, the performance of which was eventually pressed to vinyl and released digitally. Their second album is being recorded over Summer 2023.
