What fans are saying
Incredible!
I don't often write reviews, however I've found very few albums where I've loved every track and listened to them on repeat for years. Then my friend sent me a reel of Under My Skin from Edge of the Abyss, where Jess unexpectedly starts playing the keyboard. We loved the transition in the song, started sending each other tracks from the album, and quickly discovered that we actually loved the entire album!
I can only think of a few albums off the top of my head where this has happened, where I genuinely don't skip a single song, like Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park, Toxicity by System Of A Down, and Tenacious D by Tenacious D, for example.
There's just something about Calva Louise that hits different!
My friends and I went to see them at the Garage Bar in Glasgow, which we all agreed was the best gig we've ever been to. That's despite having seen some amazing bands live over the years, including Muse, Tenacious D, Linkin Park, System Of A Down and even Black Sabbath!
We specifically went to the Creeper gig at SW3 to see Calva Louise again after discovering they were the openers.
Two of us met Jess and Alizon afterwards. They were both lovely, and we can't wait to hear more from their new album and see them again the next time they're on tour.
We have so much respect for how talented they all are and how much effort they put into their artistic expression. For example, they make their own music videos, which tell an entire story when you watch them in a particular order. They were also telling us about the amount of time and effort Alizon put into restoring a 1970s harpsichord for their latest single.
I just wanted to add that even without meeting two of the band members, all the driving, and only getting around three hours of sleep by the time I got us home before I had to start my shift at work, it was completely worth it!
Calva Louise are an incredible band, and I can't wait to see what they produce next.

The pop out keyboard is quite something. Great live, super glad I got to see them. Hope they headline one day!

The show was amazing! Opener, Feels Like Karma, suggested from "opener sound" , but they were local and could be very good. Sicksense came out and raised the energy level considerably and sounded really good!
Calva Louise was unreal. So talented and they have a commanding stage presence. Jess Allanic is captivating and playful and dangerous🤣
The only thing that bothered me was a guy, maybe with The Cobra Lounge, that has his g*****n GoPro in Jess's face the ENTIRE show, ruining some key moments I had hoped to document for my YouTube channel.
