About Alexander Wren
“To a God, a woman, and an audience all unbeknownst to me…”
Alexander Wren has set off to do nothing less than resurrect the classic American Song.
Scheduled for release on May 19th, 2023, To Whom It May Concern, resembles an artistic Frankenstein of a debut album - an amalgamation of songs plucked from the New Yorker’s obsessive 500+ catalog. Written to a God, a woman, and an audience largely unbeknownst to him, Alexander views the project as an opportunity to formally introduce himself. The LP was produced by Micah Tawlks (COIN, Hayley Williams) and emerges a nostalgic yet somehow timeless work - as if it were made of a peculiar and entirely unplaceable era.
In a world dominated by numbers and instant gratification, Alexander is searching for something different. He remarks that he sees music less as a vehicle for popularity in the 21st century, rather, a rich sociological tradition that we all get the privilege of participating in. Now living off of Central Park West, Alexander mostly wanders and thinks at the neighborhood diner; he also chats with his 93 year old friend, Wayne.
