When ONR isn’t on tour, he resides in a tiny village tucked away in the south of Scotland. Growing up in such a remote location gave him perspective on the vastness of the world surrounding him. It influenced and fueled his passion and desire for big, anthemic choruses and hypnotic 80s-influenced grooves. It also provided him with a hopeless romanticism for music and the power it can wield. With an understated confidence and maturity, he cites David Bowie and Arcade Fire as his musical inspirations. After leaking his first single “Jericho” through indie music label Leftwing, he signed to Capitol Records and has released four singles that made waves on both sides of the Atlantic. He has been featured in major publications such as the The Village Voice, Huffington Post, BBC Introducing, CLASH Magazine, Culture Collide, Alternative Press, Vents Magazine, and Lemonade Magazine. ONR has worked with producers Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag & Bone Man), James Flannigan (Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Hayley Kiyoko), Doc McKinney (The Weeknd) and legendary mixer Spike Stent (Massive Attack, Frank Ocean). His tracks have been featured on New Music Friday, Young and Free and Viral 50 UK playlists on Spotify, as well as Breaking Alternative, Best of the Week playlists on Apple Music.
