About Hollowstone

The band’s inception began with four blood brothers: Nick Anderson, Jared Bittner, Chris Tacheny, and Corey Kirk. All had known one another for decades, had a large catalog of material, but with no vocalist to represent it. In 2008, Chris Tacheny had found a listing on Craigslist for a singer named Chelsea Wrathchild. Although the band never previously entertained the thought of having a female singer, Chelsea immediately clicked with the band and delivered an interesting twist to the already existing songs. And the entity known as Hollowstone was born. In late 2009, Hollowstone entered the Minneapolis metal scene with full force, accumulating live shows around the area and eventually releasing two self-produced demos. By 2010, the band finally had enough material to begin recording their debut album professionally. Collaborating with Triple 4 Studios, the band produced their full-length debut album, “Rite of Existence” in 2011. In the middle of recording, longtime friend Don Volk joined the band as the keyboard player, adding a new dimension to the old material. The years that followed were marked with great opportunities for gigging, opening for acts such as Rhapsody of Fire, Circle 2 Circle, Soilwork, Jeff Loomis, Sanctuary, and many others. In early 2014, Hollowstone entered the studio to begin work on their second album. However, the process was delayed when the band decided to part ways with their longtime drummer and friend, Corey Kirk. A young drummer by the name of Zack Adelman auditioned in the spring and was immediately snatched up by the band, proving to be an excellent catalyst for the band’s growth as musicians. The band spent the next two years focusing on their second album, “Walking Between Worlds”, released on June 28, 2016. With years of more experience and practice under their belt, the album proved to be a major milestone for the band musically and professionally. It wasn’t long after the album’s release that the announcement of Chelsea’s and Nick’s departure from the band was revealed. Chelsea decided to move to Arizona and Nick wanted to dedicate more time with his family. Although the future of Hollowstone is uncertain, bassist Jared Bittner is determined to seek out new musicians and carry on with the Hollowstone legacy. Female-fronted power metal from Minneapolis!
