Aya Maguire

I'm Aya Maguire, a singer-songwriter originally from the Denver area. Although I’ve played music since I was a small child, my songwriting career really began when I picked up a guitar my senior year of high school and found that songwriting could soothe my soul more than poetry or music alone. Since then I’ve been using songwriting as a means of understanding the world and distilling emotion.

I began sharing my music a few months later at my college open mic nights in Portland, and later at cafés in Seattle before moving to Boulder in 2015. My music has been described as a confessional, melodic blend of Iron & Wine and Joni Mitchell, while I draw influence from the talents of artists such as Hozier, Feist and the Tallest Man on Earth. In sharing my work, I hope to find common ground with listeners while continuing to deepen and expand my musical expression.
