King Brian

Brian Christopher Brown, who goes by the artist name King Brian, is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, filmmaker, and producer. He grew up in Southeastern Michigan, where his interests in music grew as a result of hearing the music of greats such as Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur, and Prince. After graduating from High School in 2006, Brian decided to pursue and complete a degree in Journalism and Screen Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn (Class of 2010), and a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Recording Arts and Technologies from Middle Tennessee State University (Graduated in December, 2015).

His main work involves live sound reinforcement, studio engineering, and A/V production, and he has recently completed mixing and mastering his first major album project for an established Nashville blues artist. He is currently pursuing a career as a filmmaker, scriptwriter, audio engineer, and pop/R&B artist, and in his spare time, enjoys singing, dancing, songwriting, working out, making music, and meeting new people. His first major short film, "Aurelius," was completed in February 2016, and has since been an official selection for the New York City International Film Festival, the Accolade Film Global Film Competition, the Los Angeles Cinefest, and the Miami Independent Film Festival.

His children’s books, “Think about It: A write and reflect book series I & II,” are excellent educational materials for children to read about a variety of situations that could impact them negatively (such as bullying, peer pressure or drug use), and then write and reflect on how they would handle it if they were placed in each situation themselves.

His debut EP, “Reverse the Curse,” will be officially released Aug. 11th, 2017, and is available for pre-ordering on Amazon music and iTunes. He feels that his first project serves as a worthy introduction to his unique singing and writing style, as well as a few of his life experiences. In particular, the title track of the EP, “The Way,” speaks of his struggles to overcome the hardships of life and the lack of support from the people around him, as well as letting the youth know that you can make your dreams come true if you work hard and never give up.
